if they were able to win on this ground, they could get out completely (although it could still be appealed to the ca supreme court).

Frankly, I don't think that the opinions toward AAWA of any believing Jw's would be even slightly affected by the name.. You could call it 'association of fluffy bunny rabbit lovers' and one look at the material/videos/media coverage etc that is critical of the WT/doctrines would immediately trigger alarms and send them ducking behind the nearest sofa.. Further, anyone like us who needs/has needed support and already doesn't believe the WT wouldn't care what it is called. I think that sites such as Jwfacts and Jwn still have a vital role to play for those Jw's who still believe but have doubts, if they're not scared away by insensitive posters.. And I agree with Cedars that the name being changed according to public opinion, especially so soon after launch, wouldn't make the association appear very professional. I suppose that we could always discuss different names for an organisation we would start or have a poll on another thread, rather than bog this one down needlessly when the decision has been made by the man responsible for the success of this bold venture. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/250134/1/If-you-started-an-organisation-related-to-exposing-the-Watchtower-helping-Jws-who-are-disfellowshipped-or-any-other-worthy-cause-What-would-it-be-called-and-what-would-you-aim-to-achieve

in regards to AAWA
by johnamos inoh how i wish i could just write out something that would cause you all to know and understand that what i say is true.
or i wish i could tell yall that i am going to do something like cause an earthquake (with jehovahs spirit backing me) at a certain place and time, then after i posted such info then it occurred just as i said...then maybe you would listen and believe what i say.. .
and even more so, your lack of knowledge and belief in jehovah and in his word the bible.

Johnamos-- I appreciate that you have strong beliefs and want to share them with people. Can I ask you two questions, though.. 1) If Jehovah is going to soon bring about the downfall of the Watchtower, then why do you want to warn AAWA to stop what they are doing, will they interfere with the Almightys plan? ..and 2) What specifically proves to you that the Bible is Gods Word, rather than words of men? Thanks in advance for replying.

Perfect example from problemaddict of why the Watchtower bears the majority of the responsibility, the elders feel that 'direction must be followed'.

Are you pro-activist, anti-activist, or passive?
by cedars ini ask this question because, having been on this forum for a year now, it's clear to me that there are many shades to so-called "apostasy", and this is particularly evident in the realm of anti-watchtower activism.. when i use the word "activism", likely picketing kingdom halls and conventions springs to mind.
however, activism can be far more subtle than that.
just having a website or a book that sheds light on the flaws of watchtower dogma is really a form of activism - arguably the most effective form at that.

Anyone have a scan/copy of October 2012 BOE letter? It may help Candace's appeal..
by The Quiet One in"the brief statedthat [ t]hat letter [a 1997 letter to boe] also confirmed watchtower's long-standing policy that a known child molester does not qualify to be appointed to a position of responsibility in any congregation.
